rcareworld hackathon

Welcome to our hackathon! This is where you can find information about our event. RCareWorld is a simulation platform designed for human-centric caregiving scenarios involving physical and social robots. It incorporates realistic human modeling, home environments, and benchmark ADL tasks, drawing on input from experts and stakeholders. By interfacing with various physics engines and external planning and learning libraries, RCareWorld facilitates the development and evaluation of robot-assisted caregiving technologies in diverse and dynamic simulated environments. The focus of The Emprise Lab is to seek solutions to the fundamental research question on how to leverage robot-world physical and social interactions in unstructured human environments to perform relevant activities of daily living. The RCareWorld Simulation Software, recently launched by the Emprise Lab, is a human-centric simulation world for physical and social robot caregiving with support for realistic human modeling, home environments with multiple levels of accessibility, and robots for assistance. For this track of the hackathon, we will be leveraging this simulation software to perform two main tasks: Robot- assisted bathing, and Robot-assisted dressing. For details/troubleshooting the simulation software, review the installation forum here and the step-by-step installation video guide here. Additionally, feel free to checkout the Installation channel in our Discord Server.

Use   RCareWorld   to perform two caregiving activities

Track 2

1st Prize:$500
2nd Prize:$300
3rd Prize:$200

Inclusive   Solutions   To Existing Systems

The second track of our hackathon challenges participants to devise inclusive solutions for existing systems. Creativity is paramount in this track, as submissions can encompass various formats, including project demonstrations/proposals, git repositories, Figma applications, demonstration code, slides, or a blend of these. During the presentation, ensure that your solution is presented in a coherent and organized manner. It's crucial to explicitly outline the target audience, the current system in place, and articulate how your solution enhances inclusivity and accessibility for the specified audience within the existing system.

Please note that all submissions to either track must be sent to bigredapdi@gmail.com before 12:00pm on Sunday, April 28th.

Register Now!

Ready to showcase your skills and creativity? Register now for the upcoming hackathon here and join us for an exciting opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and compete! All hackers have the opportunity to sign up with a team of up to three members or individually. However, if you do complete the registration with a team, each member of the team is required to complete this form separately. Hackers will be allowed to send in submissions for as many tracks as possible, and are not required to identify what tracks they are working towards prior to submission. Additional submission details will be sent in the slack channel.

For any inquiries or assistance with registration, please join the discord server or contact Patrick Evuleocha at pce29@cornell.edu.Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference and showcase your talent.
